There are a number of colon cleanse products available to help you scrub and remove hardened fecal matter, toxic materials and parasites from the colon. Knowing how important it is to cleanse the bowels as a first step to obtaining and maintaining good health, we spent several weeks researching all the different colon cleansing products on the market for this special Detoxification Issue.
Although there are dozens of products that claim to cleanse the colon, when you begin a more thorough search, you realize that there are only a handful with the right ingredients, combination and quality to be effective. Even fewer products have adequate independent customer feedback to validate the company’s claims. Every company likes to say they have the best and easiest colon cleansing program, but at the end the real measure of the effectiveness and safety of a product comes from what actual customers are reporting.
So, we have decided to analyze each over the counter colon cleanser based on price, customer feedbacks, guarantee, ingredients and side effects associated with the use of each product. For each category we’ve used a simple rating of one to five stars, with five being the best. Based on these categories, we will give you, the consumer a "road-map" to colon cleansing in hopes that you will choose the most effective and beneficial product.
#1. Bowtrol
Our Overall Rating: 
This product has it all. It’s a well balanced, easy-to-use colon cleanse formula that also happens to taste good. There’s no other colon cleanser in existence with so much positive user feedback. We have personally examined Bowtrol’s testimonial files and can verify their authenticity. We have also used the program several times with excellent results.
Bowtrol has a simple colon cleansing program. When it comes to Herbal colon cleansers, most Herbal Colon Cleansers require you to mix teas and fiber shakes. Bowtrol only requires you to take a certain amount of capsules during the day.
#2. Oxy Powder
Our Overall Rating: 
Oxy-Powder is different from the other products reviewed here. Since its main ingredient is a magnesium compound, it worksby liquefying the stool, rather than acting as a bulking agent and a scrub in the colon as do products containing psyllium. The company behind the product is a solid company that has been around for years. Oxy-Powder is an important player on the colon cleansing market, but in our opinion doesn’t have the sustained, long-term cleansing effects of more comprehensive herbal formulas.
#3. Colonix
Our Overall Rating: 
Although Colonix is the current leader in the Colon Cleansing market, we feel that it is too complicated and ‘life-altering’ for a first-time colon cleanser. Why should you "jump through all of these hoops," when there are simpler products out there that are more effective.
#4. Puristat
Our Overall Rating:
Puristat has an informative, professional-looking website, but their products are on the expensive side. We also don’t like the fact that they claim to cleanse your colon with a combination of two products only in 7, 14 or 21 days. We feel that a thorough cleanse will take much longer than that even with a more comprehensive program. Their pricing and discounts seem to be out of whack: When you buy two kits and get one kit free, they claim that to be a 67% discount when it’s only 33%. Even more weird, when you add the 21-Day Cleanse to the shopping cart, the price showing up is $539.70 retail, with the online price being $99.95. That would be an 80% discount. So which one is it: 33, 67 or 80%? All this confusion within two screens.
#5. Colpurin
Our Overall Rating:
Colpurin seems to be a good formula marketed in a way that casts doubts in the consumer. Their multi-step refund policy cannot be called hassle-free, and there may be a hefty administrative fee: “If multiple units of an individual product are ordered and returned within 45 days, Huntington Nutracueticals reserves the right to charge a 25% administrative fee applied to the total product purchase price.” Company address is not listed on website.
